This morning at 11 am, the entire Chennai city came to a halt as 'Amma' Jayalalitha sworn in as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for the fifth time. Many bigwigs from the political, film and others took part in the swearing in ceremony. However, all eyes were on one person, Superstar Rajinikanth. Rajini sat in the front row during the swearing in ceremony and he looked quite cheerful throughout.
Interestingly, in last year's general elections, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi flew down to Chennai and met Rajinikanth at the actor's residence. The meeting became sensational with news that Rajini will join BJP and spearhead the party in Tamil Nadu. However, Rajini simply expressed his support rather in a lighter tone.
Even after the formation of new governments, the BJP top leaders tried their best to rope in Rajini into the party but the Superstar didn't budge. Now, Rajini's proximity with Jayalalitha has come as a huge surprise to his fans and political analysts. While many fans are seeing this attendance as a mere friendly gesture, few others believe that a bigger surprise is in store in future.
