This year, superstar Rajinikanth's 69th birthday was not all about fireworks or birthday cakes. Fans, for the love of the superstar, were also involved in community service. Blood donation drives, wheel chair donations, pujas and clean-up drives, fans were engaged in helping the society on Rajinikanth's birthday.
Talking about a diehard Rajinkanth fan, he even started a hotel for people where they can avail healthy and subsidised food.
Tucked in the bylanes of Manapakkam in Chennai, Tamil Nadu stands this brand new hotel with the Rajinikanth's posters.
Named Uzhaipalli Unavagham, after one of Rajinikanth's movies, the owner of the hotel K Veerababu aims at giving healthy food to the struggling Uzhaipalli which translates to a hard worker.
From subsidised dosas, idlis, rice varieties to meals for Rs 10, this hotel has quite a good spread. "I want to introduce herbal food to poor people. If we take in herbs daily, it helps lead a healthy life," Dr Veerababu said.
The owner and also doctor has introduced food for diabetic people and food to strengthen the bones as well. As a doctor his aim is to help the needy eat a rich meal that will nourish the body, mind and soul.

He has hired about 20 employees in the hotel and has put up banners on the health benefits of the food served there.
"Other hotels provide food for Rs 50 but here the amount is low. The food is of good quality and is budget friendly," Gunasekaran, a gas station employee who came to eat his lunch at the hotel, said.
Dr Veerababu has started this canteen with an intention to popularise superstar Rajinikanth. He opened his canteen with the hope that Rajinikanth's fan base increases and they support the actor in politics.
"Superstar is coming to politics and that is why I opened this hotel. He is a good person. If he comes to politics everything will change," owner Dr Veerababu added.
