Yes 12/12/06... was indeed an excellent evening and a another remarkable day in the history of rajinifans.com from our members in Dubai. We had aired a live show in a Tamil Radio Channel named SHAKTHI FM in Dubai yesterday night. It was a live discussion by two of our members Lawrence Prabhakar and Gopi who had done a wonderful show yesterday.

Details as follows :

We were initially in a fix as to what we can do for SS Bday this year and finally our Special Correspondent Gopi had given us an idea of doing a programme in Shakthi FM and that's how the whole concept took its shape. With the help of our member Sharmili, we contacted  Mr.Ashokan, the CEO / General Manager of Shakthi FM and I sent him a detailed write up about our group and its activities and then finally they agreed to do a programme under the banner of rajinifans.com. Our whole hearted thanks to Sharmili for helping us contact Shakthi FM organisers.

Ungal Shakthi 94.7 FM is the first ever dedicated Tamil Radio channel in the Middle East region. Ungal Shakthi operates from Ras Al Kaimah catering to the Tamil Diaspora in UAE and runs from 7.00 pm to 7.00 am every day. Yesterday the programme started with a special mention about SS Bday. We had agreed to give them some questions about SS for the Quiz Programme and the same was asked to the listeners yesterday and we members had also agreed to sponsor the prize for the winner of the quiz. Gopi and myself had mutually discussed among ourselves for the questions and the final set of questions were sent by Gopi. We had sent them 15 questions out of which 5 questions were selected by them and were asked to the listeners yday night and the person answering all the 5 questions would be the winner of a DVD Player sponsored by rajinifans.com. Dubai members shared the cost of this DVD player.

Shakthi FM had also requested us for SS movie clippings, punch dialogues and comedy clippings and the same was done by our member Abuthageer and sent to them in a CD. The same clippings were played by them the whole day yday. Our sincere thanks to Abu for all his efforts.

Announcements about our group were made in between the songs (every half an hour). We had also requested them to make special announcements about our group strength and also the live programme which was to be held at 11.00 p.m. yesterday night and it was done accordingly.

And then the most awaited live show was on..... at sharp 11.00 p.m. Shakti FM Coordinator Mr.Ganathipan had interviewed Mr.Lawrence Prabhakar and Mr.Gopi about Super Star and also about our group. Our special thanks to Mr.Ganathipan who was very encouraging and cooperative throughout the programme yesterday. We gifted Shakti FM coordinators Mr.Ganathipan and Mr.Nagapan with small gifts as a token of thanks on behalf of rajinifans.com. The cost of these gifts were shared by our Dubai members.

It was an excellent programme and our members Lawrence and Gopi had done extremely well. In order to create an awareness about our group, i called Sakthi FM in the middle of the programme as a listener and probed them to tell us the benefit of joining our group, procedure of joining this forum and questioned them about superstar. On the whole both our members gave very good answers to all the questions and also provided unique facts about SS to the listeners. They also gave good information about our group and our activities and also guided all listeners as to how they can join our big family of members. Both their contact nos. were given and believe me, before the programme got over, both our members had got about 25 calls each.

We have a got a wonderful response from the listeners of the programme and many of them have told us that they would like to meet all our members and be a part of our family.

We are in the process of uploading the whole programme in our group. We would update the group once it is done.

Last but not the least, we the members in Dubai proved the saying "UNITY IS STRENGTH". It was a total team work. We could do it mainly because of the unity among us. All this could happen only because of one man....the one and only "SUPER STAR RAJINIKANTH". 

I whole heartedly thank all the Dubai members for helping us achieve this. This is not a full stop, its just the beginning. For us, sky is the limit.  We would be organizing the blood donation camp and the meet soon, as mentioned earlier.

My special thanks to our members Lawrence and Gopi who had taken so much pains to go the radio station, which is about 2.5 hours drive from Dubai (Ras Al Khaimah, one of the Emirates in UAE), though it was late in the night and also a week day; our member Abuthageer who had taken so much efforts to prepare a CD with all SS stuff for us and finally our member Sharmili, who had helped us contact Shakthi FM.
