Rajnikanth has proved once again that he is the biggest brand in Tamil films with the successful audio launch of Chandramukhi.
His detractors who had been shouting from the roof-top that the superstar charishma and pull has diminished were shocked by the kind of adultation the actor received at the Chandramukhi audio launch. At Chenna's Ritchie Street the wholesale market for electronic goods, shops that deal in audio cassettes opened at 6 am on Saturday (March 5) as agents took delivery of the audio.

Says Sanjay Wadhwa of AnAK Audios who are marketing the Chandramukhi audio: “At a time when audio market is at an all time low, the kind of reception that we got is overwhelming. We had manufactured only 1,50,000 cassettes and 30,000 CD’s, but by Sunday evening all the dealers wanted more stock by Monday!"

It is obvious that the audio is selling like hot cakes on the brand equity of Rajnikanth. At Chennai’s Music World 437 cassettes and 227 CD’s were sold on the first day! Compare this with the number one audio on the chart that has sold only 572 cassettes and 147 CD’s in 32 days after its music launch!

Rajnikanth is truly a phenomenon. He has not lost an iota of his mass fan base and is still the number one by a mile.

"I am 100 percent satisfied": Kala Master

Kala Master, the top choreographer in south Indian cinema has recently completed the climax song for Rajnikanth’s Chandramukhi with Jyothika and Vineeth at the Ramoji Rao studio in Hyderabad. In a quick chat, Kala shares her experiences to Sify.com

About Jyothika:
She is the most dedicated artist that we have today. I would say that she is the first actress to bring expression in dance movements. I have just completed the climax song for Chandramukhi, which is the most difficult and crucial scene in the whole film.

So you have choreographed this difficult dance number…
I was so happy and elevated when director P. Vasu sir called me up and said that only I could do this difficult song! It was very challenging for me, and I consider this particular song as a bench mark in my career. There are other dance masters also in the film and I have done only this particular song.

Can you elaborate a little more…I believe that in the Malayalam version, this song is a very slow number. In Kannada it is slightly fast but in Tamil, music director Vidyasagar has given a 5 minute racy fast number, sung by Binny Krishnakumar, a new singer and Tippu. This song which is also the theme music in the film is surely going to rock and be a chartbuster.

But there were reports that Jo could not get the steps right as she is not a trained classical dancer…
She may not be a trained classical dancer but no one can match her self confidence and determination. According to me, that’s enough for a person to make the impossible, possible. Jo worked hard and she took just 4 days to complete the song which any other artist would take more than 7 days. She is a kind of girl who will not sleep well until she is happy with her portion. That’s the kind of fiery determination that she has towards her work.

So are you happy the way the song has shaped out?
I am 100 percent satisfied. We had seen it at the editing table and even Rajnikanth sir was amazed by the way Jo has transformed herself into a typical south Indian classical dancer.

Sify - Chandramukhi` audio fetches Rs 1.10 Crore!

The audio rights of Rajnikanth's Chandramukhi have been sold to
Sanjay Wadhva, a financier and overseas distributor of Tamil films
for Rs 1.10 Crore! Now Sanjay's company `AnAK Audio' who has earlier
marketed the audio of Kamal Hassan's Virumaandi will now market
Chandramukhi.
At a time when Tamil audio market is at an all time low, the price
that Sanjay paid for India and overseas is attractive to Sivaji
Productions. Three years back, Rajnikanth's Baba audio was sold for
Rs 2 Crore and Padayyappa had gone for Rs 1,25 Crore six years back!

Asha Bhonsle was in Chennai to sing a song for Chandramukhi under
the baton of music director Vidyasagar for whom the film is a
prestigious project. There are six songs in the album and the music
is said to be "rocking".

The music launch of Chandramukhi would take place on March 5 in
Chennai and the overseas launch would be on March 6 in Malaysia.
Asha Bhonsle and Kamal Hassan will be present for the launch in
Chennai.

Cinesouth : Chandramuki's Telugu version creates History

Rajini is one among very few actors who commands name and fame in other states also. If Kamal is famous in Kerala, so is Rajini is Andhra. His fame is no less than any other front line Telugu Heroes.

Director P. Vasu also had good name in the Telugu field. When he didn't have films to direct in Tamil, he moved over to Telugu field, and had given some hit movies. By doing this, he was able to keep his name in the list of 'hit' film directors. That name is paying dividends now.

'Chandramuki' had struck a biggest deal ever made in terms of trade than any other Tamil film so far. The amount of trade in Telugu alone is a whooping 30 crores. Audio rights are separate.

This trade had even stunned the front line heroes of Telugu film. This also made Income Tax department swung into action. They went to Rajini house to question Rajini in this regard.

But, the Chief Commission of that department Dr. Vinay Gupta refutes the information of raid in Rajini house.

"We wanted to question Rajinikanth about his Income Tax returns filed in the last 4 years. This questioning is an usual affair. This had no connection whatsoever with the film 'Chandramuki' in which he is acting now.

But one thing has become very clear. There is no pressure whatsoever either from state or Central governments in this regard.

சந்திரமுகி படத்தின் பாடல் கேசட் சென்னையில் மார்ச் 5ம் தேதி வெளியிடப்படும் என்று தயாரிப்பாளர் ராம்குமார் தெரிவித்திருக்கிறார்.

தமிழ்த் திரையுலக ரசிகர்களால் பெரிதும் ஆவலுடன் எதிர்பார்க்கப்படும் ‘சந்திரமுகி’ திரைப்படத்தை செய்வதற்கு டாடா குழுமத்தைச் சேர்ந்த டாடா டெலிசர்வீசஸ் லிமிடெட் நிறுவனமும், சந்திரமுகி திரைப்படத்தை தயாரித்துவரும் சிவாஜி புரொடக்ஷன்ஸ் நிறுவனமும் கூட்டு சேர்ந்துள்ளன.

சிவாஜி புரொடக்ஷன் சார்பாக ரொம்ப வருஷங்களுக்கு முன்பு தயாரிக்கப்பட்ட அமர்தீப் படத்தில் ஆஷா போஸ்லே பாடினார். இப்போது சந்திரமுகி படத்தில் அவர் ஒரு பாடல் பாடியிருக்கிறார். அவரை வைத்துத்தான் சந்திரமுகி படத்தின் பாடல் கேசட் வெளியிடப்படுகிறது. படத்தில் சூழ்நிலைக்கு தகுந்த மாதிரிதான் பாடல்கள் இடம்பெற்றிருக்கின்றன. படத்திற்கு செலவழிக்கப்பட்ட தொகை எவ்வளவு என்பது இப்போது தெரியாது. இப்போதே தொகையை சொல்லிவிட்டால் பயந்துவிடுவீர்கள். ஏப்ரல் 14ல் தமிழ்ப்புத்தாண்டு அன்று சந்திரமுகி திரைக்கு வருகிறது. அப்போது படத்தின் பட்ஜெட் எவ்வளவு என்று சொல்கிறோம்.

சந்திரமுகி படத்தின் படப்பிடிப்பு பெரும்பாலும் முடிந்துவிட்டது. 3 பாடல்கள் மட்டுமே சூட்டிங் செய்ய வேண்டும். இந்த 3 பாடல்களையும் வெளிநாட்டில் படம்பிடிக்கலாமா என யோசனை செய்துகொண்டிருக்கிறோம். படத்தில் மொத்தம் 5 பாடல்கள். படப்பிடிப்பை 125 நாட்களுக்குள் முடிக்க திட்டமிட்டிருந்தோம். ஆனால் 75 நாட்களுக்குள்ளேயே படம் முடிந்துவிடும். சந்திரமுகி பற்றிய இன்னும் நிறைய தகவல்களை 16ம் தேதி பத்திரிகையாளர் சந்திப்பின்போது தெரிவிக்கிறோம்.

குமுதம் : ரஜினி அப்படியே இருக்கிறார்!

‘‘சந்திரமுகி படத்தின் வேலைகள் ரொம்ப வேகமாக நடந்துகொண்டிருக்கிறது. ரஜினியைப் பொறுத்தவரை உற்சாகமாக முழு ஈடுபாட்டுடன் நடித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார். தினமும் அவர்தான் எங்கள் எல்லோருக்கும் முன்பாக லொக்கேஷனுக்குப் போய் காத்துக் கொண்டிருப்பார். ஆனால் ஜோதிகா, ரஜினிக்கு முன்னால் மேக்கப்புடன் லொக்கேஷனில் தயாராக இருக்கிறார். என்னோட இத்தனை வருட அனுபவத்தில் இதுபோல் ஒரு சின்சியரான நடிகையை நான் பார்த்ததில்லை. ரியலி சூப்பர்ப். ஒவ்வொரு முறையும் நடித்து முடித்ததும் ‘நான் நல்லா நடிச்சிருக்கிறேனா, காட்சி நன்றாக வந்திருக்கிறதா? இல்லை ஒன் மோர் டேக் போகலாமா?’ என்று பயபக்தியுடன் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறார். அதனால்தான் அவரால் நல்ல பெயரெடுக்க முடிந்தது என்று நினைக்கிறேன்’’ என்று உற்சாகமாக சொல்ல ஆரம்பித்தார் பிரபு. சந்திரமுகி ஷ¨ட்டிங் இரவு முழுவதும் முடிந்து அதிகாலை வீடு திரும்பியிருந்தார்.

‘‘என் அப்பா நடிகர் திலகம் சிவாஜிகணேசன் ஒவ்வொரு படத்திலும் வித்தியாசமான கதாபாத்திரங்கள் ஏற்று படம் பார்க்கும் மக்களிடம் ஓர் எதிர்பார்ப்பை உண்டு பண்ணிவிடுவார். அந்த எதிர்பார்ப்பு கமலுக்கு உண்டு என்று அப்பாவே என்னிடம் சொல்லியிருக்கிறார். அப்பா எப்படி அந்த கேரக்டருக்காக மெனக் கெட்டாரோ அந்த இயல்பு அப்படியே கமலிடம் இருக்கிறது. இதைக் கண்டு நாங்கள் எல்லோருமே ஆச்சரியப்பட்டிருக்கிறோம்.

அப்பா ஒருமுறை ராம்குமார் அண்ணனிடம், ‘உங்களை விட அதிகம் என் மடியில் உட்கார்ந்தது கமல்தான். எனக்கு கமலும் ஒரு பிள்ளைதான்’ என்று சொல்லியிருக்கிறார். நாங்கள் பெங்களூரில் பிஷப் கார்ட்டன் பாய்ஸ் ஹைஸ்கூலில் படித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கும்போது அங்குள்ள ஹாஸ்டலில்தான் தங்கினோம். கமல் குழந்தை நட்சத்திரமாக அப்பாவுடன் பல படங்களில் நடித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கும்போது அவர் மடியில் ஏறி இறங்கி விளையாடியிருக்கிறார். இந்த பாக்கியம் எங்களுக்கெல்லாம்கூட அவ்வளவாக கிடைக்கவில்லை. காரணம், நாங்கள் குழந்தையாக இருக்கும்பொழுதே அப்பா அம்மாவை விட்டுப் பிரிந்து வெளியூரில் தங்கிப் படிக்கப் போய்விட்டோம். அதனால், கமல் எங்கள் வீட்டில் பிறக்காத மூத்த பிள்ளை. நான் இப்போதும் அவரை அண்ணா என்றுதான் அழைத்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறேன்.

வசூல்ராஜா எம்.பி.பி.எஸ் படத்தில் கமல் என்னை அழைத்து வாய்ப்புக் கொடுத்தார். சந்திரமுகி படத்தில் ரஜினி, ‘பிரபு, நீங்களும் நானும் சேர்ந்து நடிக்கிறோம் என்ன சொல்றீங்க’ என்றார். கரும்பு தின்னக் கூலி வேண்டுமா என்று அவரிடமே சொன்னேன்.

ரஜினி மீது அப்பாவுக்கு மரியாதை, பாசம் எல்லாம் உண்டு. ரஜினியைப் பற்றி அவர் எப்போது பேசினாலும் உழைப்பால் உயர்ந்திருக்கிறார். எதிலும் அவரிடம் வைராக்கியமும், ஈடுபாடும் செவ்வனே இருக்கிறது. அதனால் அவருக்கு நல்ல எதிர்காலம் இருக்கிறது என்று பலமுறை ஒருதீர்க்கதரிசி போல் சொல்லியிருக்கிறார். ‘படையப்பா’ படப்பிடிப்பின்போது அப்பாவுக்கு முன்பே சீக்கிரமே லொக்கேஷனுக்கு போய்விடுவார் அப்பா. இதைப் பார்த்து பிரமித்துப் போயிருக்கிறார். இப்போதும் ரஜினி அப்படியே இருக்கிறார். அவருக்கு இருக்கும் பெயருக்கும், புகழுக்கும் இது அவசியமில்லை. அவர் எப்போது வந்தாலும் யாரும் எதுவும் சொல்ல மாட்டார்கள்.


சிவாஜி புரொடக்ஷனில் இதற்கு முன்பு ‘மன்னன்’ படத்தில் ரஜினி நடித்தார். அப்போது என்னிடம், ‘மன்னன் படம் நன்றாக ஓடினால் இன்னொரு படம் நிச்சயம் உங்கள் பேனருக்கு செய்வேன்’ என்றார். மன்னன் படம் நன்றாக ஓடியது. அதனால், அப்போது சொன்னதை ஞாபகத்தில் வைத்துக் கொண்டு பதினெட்டு வருடம் கழித்து ‘சந்திர முகி படத்தைத் தயாரியுங்கள். அதில் நான் நடிக்கிறேன்’ என்று சொன்ன சொல்லை தவறாமல் காப்பாற்றியிருக்கிறார். அதுதான் ரஜினி.

என்னை ‘புரொடியூசர் சார்’ என்று அழைத்து முதுகில் தட்டி கிண்டல் செய்து லொக்கேஷனில் ஜாலியாக இருப்பார். அவரிடம் ஹியூமர் சென்ஸ் நிறைய உண்டு. அது அவரிடம் பழகியவருக்கு மட்டுமே தெரியும்.

ரஜினி சமீபத்தில் என்னிடம் என் அம்மாவைப் பற்றி பேசும்போது அம்மாவின் நெற்றியில் பெரிய பொட்டு இருக்கும். ‘முகத்தில் சிரிப்பும், நல்ல உபசரிப்பையும் பார்த்துப் பழக்கப்பட்ட எனக்கு இந்த களையான முகத்தில் பொட்டு இல்லாமல் இருப்பதைப் பார்க்க கஷ்டமாக இருக்கிறது’ என்றார். அந்த அளவுக்கு எங்கள் குடும்பத்துடன் ரொம்ப நெருக்கமாகப் பழகியிருக்கிறார். இந்த நட்பு கிடைத்தது, அவர் சிவாஜி புரொடக்ஷனுக்கு படம் பண்ணுவது எல்லாம் நாங்கள் செய்த அதிர்ஷ்டம்.’’ என்று முடித்தார் பிரபு.

இப்போதுதான் கம்போஸிங் அறையிலிருந்து வெளியே வருகிறேன். பால்கனியிலிருந்து பார்த்தால் தெருவெல்லாம் ரசிகர் கூட்டம். உள்ளே ‘சந்திரமுகி’ படத்தின் பாடல் தயாராகிறது. ரஜினியின் ரகசிய வருகை வெளியே பரவி, அவர் தரிசனத்துக்காக ஒரு கூட்டம் காத்திருக்கிறது.

‘‘ஹேப்பி... இது பெரிசா ஹிட்டாகும் வித்யா!’’ |உற்சாகமாக வாலி, பி.வாசு, ராம் குமாருடன் கிளம்பிப் போகிறார் ரஜினி. வாசலில் பரபரப்பு... விசில் ஒலிகள். மின்னலென வெளியேறி, ஒரு பளிச் புன்னகையுடன் கூட்டத்தைக் கும்பிட்டுவிட்டு, காரிலேறிப் பறக்கிறார் ரஜினி.

ஒரு விழாவில் தற்செயலாக டைரக்டர் பி.வாசு சாரைப் பார்த்தேன். Ô‘உங்களுக்கு ஒரு குட் நியூஸ் இருக்கு’Õ எனச் சிரித்துவிட்டுப் போனார். பிறகு, அதை நானும் மறந்து போய்விட்டேன். ஒருநாள் ராம்குமார் என் ஸ்டூடியோவுக்கு வந்திருந்தார். நான் ரஜினி சாரை முதலில் சந்தித்ததே ‘அன்னை இல்ல’த்தில் நடந்த ‘சந்திரமுகி’ பட பூஜையில்தான். ‘வித்யாசாகர்’னு யாரோ என்னைக் கூப்பிட்டார்கள். மெதுவாகத் திரும்பிப் பார்த்தால், ரஜினி சார்! ÔÔவணக்கம் வித்யாசாகர். உங்களுக்குத்தான் இதில் ரொம்ப வேலையிருக்கு. உங்க ஸ்டூடியோவுக்கு நானே வர்றேன். நிறைய பேசணும்ÕÕ என்று சிரித்தார்.

சந்திரமுகிக்கு வேறு யாரோதான் மியூஸிக் பண்ணுவதாக இருந்ததாம். ஆனால், ரஜினி சார்தான் என்னைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்தாராம். ‘‘என் பொண்ணுங்க, அவங்க ஃப்ரெண்ட்ஸ் எல்லாம், Ôவித்யாசாகர்’னு உங்க பேர் சொன்னதுமே சந்தோஷத்துல தலைகால் தெரியாம துள்றாங்க. அப்படி என்னதான் மாயம் பண்றீங்க?ÕÕனு சிரிச்சார் ரஜினி.

சிம்பிளா இருக்கார். காஷ§வலாப் பழகுறார். ரொம்ப வேகம். இப்பப் பாருங்க, ÔசடசடÕனு மூணு பாட்டு கம்போஸ் ஆயிருச்சு. மாஸ் ஹீரோன்னாலே ரஜினி தான்! ஹீரோயிஸத்துக்கான பில்டப் அவர் படங்களில்தான் பிரபலமாக ஆரம்பிச்சுது.

ஆனால், ‘சந்திரமுகி’ படப் பாடல்களில், அரசியல் சங்கதி, தனிமனிதப் புகழ்ச்சி மாதிரி வழக்கமான விஷயங்கள் வேண்டாம் என்று முடிவு பண்ணிட்டார் ரஜினி சார். இப்போ சின்ன நடிகர்கள்கூட ஹீரோயிஸம்தான் வேணும்னு எதிர்பார்க்கிறப்போ, அந்த ஃபார்முலாவை ரஜினி சாரே பிரேக் பண்றது ரொம்ப ஆரோக்கியமான விஷயம்.

ஓபனிங் சாங் வாலி சார் எழுதறார். சின்ன இடைவெளிக்குப் பிறகு ரஜினி சார் மறுபடியும் ஸ்கிரீன்ல வந்து நிக்கறப்போ, இடி, மின்னல், புயல், மழைனு போட்டுத் தாக்கற ஸ்டைல்ல வரும் பாட்டு. ஒரு வேகத்தோட காத்திருக்கிற அத்தனை ரஜினி ரசிகர்களுக்கும் அது அர்ப்பணம்!

ரஜினி சார் ரொம்ப மாடர்னா யோசிக்கிறார். அவரிடம் ஒரு நல்ல விஷயம் என்னன்னா, தன் கருத்தை யார் மீதும் அவர் திணிப்பதில்லை. என்ன விஷயம்னாலும் கவனமாகக் கேட்கிறார். ஏன் அதைச் செய்ய விரும்பறோம்னு தெரிஞ்சுக்க விரும்பறார். அப்படியே வெளிப்படையா மனசைத் திறந்து வெச்சிருக்கிறார். ‘இந்தப் பாட்டுக்கு யார் டான்ஸ் மாஸ்டரா இருந்தா நல்லாயிருக்கும்?’னு என்னோட அபிப்பிராயம் கேட்கிறார். அவ்வளவு ஆர்வமா, கவனமா ஒரு திருவிழாவுக்குத் தயாராகிறார் ரஜினி சார்.

ஆக்ஷன் தவிர, இது மியூஸிக்கலான சப்ஜெக்ட். படத்தின் ரீ& ரிக்கார்டிங் லண்டனில் பண்ணப்போறோம். Ôசந்திரமுகிÕக்கு சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் இருக்கார். அந்தப் பலமே பெரிய கமர்ஷியல். அதை மியூஸிக்ல அழகுபடுத்த வேண்டிய பொறுப்பு மட்டும் என்னுடையது. அதனோட மதிப்பு எனக்குப் புரியுது. இரண்டு நாட்களுக்கு முன்னால் பாண்டி பஜார் அருகே காரில் வந்துகொண்டிருந்தேன். சரேலென என் காரை ஓவர்டேக் செய்து ஒரு கார் குறுக்கே வந்து நின்றது. காரிலிருந்து இறங்கி வந்தவர், ஒரு பெரிய அதிகாரி போல இருந்தார். ‘Ôகுட்மார்னிங் சார், ‘சந்திரமுகி’ பாட்டெல்லாம் ரெடியா?’’ என்றார். ‘Ôவேலை நடந்துட்டிருக்குங்க’Õ என்றேன். ‘Ôசூப்பரா குத்துப்பாட்டு போடுங்க சார்!’’ என்று சொல்லிவிட்டு, காரைக் கிளப்பிக்கொண்டு போய்விட்டார். எல்லா இடத்திலும் எல்லா ரகத்திலும் ரஜினி சாருக்கு ரசிகர்கள் இருக்காங்க.
