Other Language Films in the Initial Stage

If K.B hadn't given a lead role in "Moonru Muditchu", Rajnikanth would be retiring his cinema career after doing lot of villain role & character role in Kannada Cinema.

Super Star himself told in an interview that Kannada cinema filed had given lot of chances when he was in the initial step of his cinema career.

"Katha Sangama" - Directed by the veteran Kannda director Puttanna was a noted kannada film for super star, of course, it's his first kannada film as well as second film of his career. In this film he did a villain role which was reproduced in "Kai Kodukkum Kai"

"Nandhu Pramathe Kathe" - Second kannada film of Super Star identified him as a good villain. The hero role was done by the famous kannada hero Ashok.

"Sakothara Saval" - Rajni did a support role with kannda leading hero - Vishnuvarthan. This film was later dupped into tamil as "Neruppu"

"Amme Katha" - In this film also Rajni did a villain character with Jayasudha

"Kalatta Samsara" - I think, for the first time, Rajni did a positive character role in this film. Directed by the famous tamil director C.V. Rajendran. It was the remake of tamil film "Veetukku Veedu"

“Killadi Kittu” – One more film with Vishuvarthan, later released in Tamil as “Inspector Rajini”

“Madu Thappitha Maga” - Usual action film by Rajini in a leading role. Music was done by Illayaraja

“Kunguma Kovu” - It’s remake of tamil film “Nenjil Oru Aalayam” . Rajni did a good character role. He was very much inspired about this film. Dupped in Tamil as “Kurunji Malar”.

Apart from these direct films, there are some kannada version of his tamil films like “Thappu Thala”, “Priya” & “Karjane”

“Kunguma Kovu” & “Madu Tappitha Maga” are quite watchable kannada movies by our super star!
