Rajini & Hindi Films
Once he agreed in an interview that he had entered
into Bollywood after seeing the huge success of
Kamalhaasan's "Ek Tuje Ke Liye". Luckily, he got an good
introduction by the Bollywood Super Star Amitabh.
"Andha Kanoon" was his first hindi venture and it reached silver
jubilee. The fact is, the Bollywood career of Kamal & Rajni
couldn't be comparable. Kamal's direct hindi films will be only
8-10 whereas Super Star did atmost 25 direct films in Hindi. In
most of the he did only supporting character. Actually he enjoyed
to do it...
Kamal made a big wave in Bollywood within 4,5 films. The success of
Giraftar is really a turning point to Super Star but not to Kamal.
For an die-hard fan of Super Star never like to watch his hindi
movies. Super Star doesn't create a image cirlce in Bollywood. I
think, no actor have tried like this.
Though there are so many criticisms regarding his acting, the media
never tried to discourage him. I would like to refer the review of
Super Star's recent hindi film - Bulandi.
"Rajinikant, who makes a spectacular special appearance in the
film, steals the show. The film perks up as soon as he enters the
scene. His mannerisms -- the way he juggles his scarf or throws a
cigar in his mouth -- are a treat to watch. There is a scene where
Rajinikant accepts the adulation from the crowd and Anil Kapoor
stands near him. One actually tends to forget that Anil is a star
in his own right -- so overshadowed is he by the towering presence
of Rajini."
