Kuselan smart enough in overseas Box Office!
(Thursday, 20th November 2008)
Here is the exact box office report of Rajinikanth’s Kuselan in UK.

Kuselan has collected 1, 06,394 Pounds (Rs.88.14 lakhs) from 17 screens in Great Britain’s UK box office alone. Remember the film has opened in UK BO at 13th position. Kuselan is the second big film that collected nearly a crore in the UK box office. Kamal’s Dasavatharam has collected Rs.1.07 cr in 19 theaters is in the top.

Though Kuselan was declared as a flop by the trade pundits here, the overseas collection of the film is smart and the film’s owner Saimira is very happy about the performance. In US and South East Asian Countries like Malaysia and Singapore the film has collected in crores and the producers are prepared to release the data soon.

In Kuselan Rajini just appeared for 30 plus minutes and some of his ardent fans got disappointed due to his short role. At the time of the film’s release, some unwanted political situation forced the film to exit from the halls at the earliest. Some exhibitors claimed heavy loss and demanded compensation while the film was running in most of the theaters.

It can be recalled that the compensation drama has ended last week only and Pyramid Saimira declared that everything has settled smoothly.

Bala is correct. Rajni did his part to perfection. reasons why it did not click were according to me,
1. We adore Rajni but refering him always as superstar..looked hysteric.
2. Unrealistic get-up and a bit vulgar comedy scenes from Vadivelu.. remember a length scene Nayan adjusting her top and the close-ups..not to our taste
3. Pasupathy is a good actor but his screen presence alongside Rajni.. not a match.
4. Poor screenplay, the shooting scenes .. nothing was interesting and better least said about the vettaiyan graphics.. Bhakhiyaraj might have done good jobs in these kinds of scenes.
... and many more
Vasu should take the entire blame for making a nice storyline into a farce.
Let's forget it as THALAIVAR himself wants to look ahead and march forward..

I think we need to agree that movies can flop and sometimes even Super star's movies can be a flop or can perform below expectations.
Kuselan is a different issue. The movie was made and presented very badly. The over cofidence of the director who tasted a great success in Chandramugi is the main reason. The malayalam movie was superb and no hype was created. In fact super star played it down very well during the pooja too that he was playing just a guest role.....but somehow the greed somewhere for someone made them to sell it badly too with a lot of hype. Ofcourse our super star should be careful henceforth.
We expect a Mullum Malarum, Netrikunn, Badsha, 6 to 60, Padayappa, Thalapathy kind of movies.
I wish our great super star teams up with Mani Ratnam again to give the world a classy movie.....any comments pls

Whatever said and done.... Kuselan was definitely one of the very good movies in the recent times...
Expectations (of Profits especially) are unreasonably high when Thalaivar acts.
One can only pity those who had unreasonable expectations from Kuselan. We wish our thalaivar all the success for his forthcoming warrior and enthiran...
