Theatres in Tamil Nadu were shut down on the third week of March owing to coronavirus pandemic. Among the movies which released in the first three months of 2020, there were only a few ones which received unanimous appreciation from both critics and audiences alike, and Dulquer-starrer Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal was one of them. Going by a tweet which the film’s director Desingh Periyasamy posted on his account, looks like none other than Superstar Rajinikanth has appreciated the movie. The cryptic tweet said that he could only hear the words of appreciation he received. Thanking God, Desingh said he’s over the moon because of the appreciation. He posted, “Soooperrrr...excellent....hahahaha... really I have taken back...congratulations....periya future irukku ungalukku” kaalaila irunthu ithu mattum thaan kettuttu irukku kaathula...paranthukittu irukken....kadavulukku nanri. Thanks to everyone who are all waited for this day.”
Though he didn’t convey exactly who acknowledged his work, fans in the comment section assumed that it could be Rajinikanth as the director has confessed many times in the past that he’s an ardent fan of Superstar. It doesn’t come as a surprise as the Annaatthe of Kollywood is often known for his gesture of calling and appreciating good works of others. In the comments section, many asked Desingh if he has a script ready for their Thalaivar.
Finally, the telephone audio conversation between Thalaivar and Director Desingh was released today.
